Don’t think for a second that Google is going to forget about those corporate espionage attacks that it may have incurred from within China. The search engine giant has teamed up with the US National Security Agency to further investigate the crime.

Google hopes to be able to better defend itself and its users from future attacks.

Those worried about privacy needn’t fear, reports the Washington Post. The arrangement does not have the NSA viewing user searches or e-mail accounts. Neither will Google be sharing proprietary data with the NSA, which is the world’s most powerful surveillance organization.

Many are already familiar with the back-story: Google has threatened to pull out of China, citing the cyber attacks it incurred last month, unless China lifts the heavy censorship it imposes on the company.

Apparently, Google had approached the NSA right after the attacks, but reaching an agreement took some time due to the sensitive nature of information-sharing between the two sides.
