Because of Google’s statement released last week about the cyber attacks that it traced to China and the threat to halt its operations in the country, Google felt it is best to delay the launch of two planned mobile-phones models that use its Android operating system, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The two phones are made in partnership with Samsung Electronics Co. and Motorola Inc. and were planned to be launched with Chinese mobile carrier China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. on Wednesday.
The Motorola’s Droid phones come packed with various Google features such as mobile search and Google maps.
Google felt it would be “irresponsible” to release the phones in China at this time and didn’t say how long it is delaying the launch.
